Mood Roads
The Challenge
Acura wanted to demonstrate the intelligence of their new vehicle at the Sundance Film festival. At such a crowded event they needed a big idea to set them apart.
The Solution
Mood Roads is the ultimate personalisation experience. Users would wear a brain-scanning device which would generate unique environments, soundtracks and roads for them to travel down. To fully experience the feeling of movement the software would spin the sphere that users were sitting in to simulate g-forces.
Key Technical Features:
- Brain-Computer Interface: Integration with brain-scanning hardware to read user’s mood
- Procedural Generation: Real-time generation of unique environments based on biometric data
- Dynamic Audio: Custom soundtracks generated per user
- Physical Integration: Software control of rotating sphere to simulate movement and g-forces
The Result
- 1,000+ rides in the sphere
- 5,375 kilometres driven
- 2. 5 million twitter impressions
“An unforgettable intersection of neuroscience, gaming, and automotive technology.”
